2010 School Year

Well, it is a new school year which means new challenges and learning experiences. Little guy is now in the first grade! Wow! Oh how time flies. I have found that education of the gluten free diet is a big part of our lives. He has become a gluten detective! (Yes, I am sure there is a comic book in there some where!) He is aware of crumbs that others leave behind. The kids have snack in the classroom, and that has been more of a challenge this year in that the kids are stretching on the floor. Well, where do the crumbs end up from snack? You guessed it, the floor. You have to love that gravity! It amazes me that just when we think that we have this all figured out....a new challenge.

It is our job as those living the gluten free lifestyle to educate others on our lifestyle.

So much to write about, but no time to blog...

Well, it has been awhile since my last blog. So much has been happening. If you are in the Jamestown, NY area and would like a nice place to get lunch, do I have great news for you. Cooper's Cyber Cafe is now serving GF items. Take a look at their link and stop by and try it out. http://cooperscybercafe.com/ PS. They have WIFI too:) and all tips are given to the local humane society.

I have come across an article that I wanted to share with you all. I am not sure if anyone out there is a single parent of a child that must eat gluten free, but you may find this article interesting. http://www.wect.com/Global/story.asp?S=11547425 It is a great example of how some individuals take it seriously and others chose not to take it seriously. I heard someone say once that they wished that those closest to them could "walk in their shoes" for just a day and get a hint of what it is like to live with a gluten intolerance/CD. I find this to be so true when it comes to the care of children. I guess it is true for any special condition that a child has to go through. We only hope it helps them become stronger and put a positive spin on their life. My 5 year old doesn't wish for world peace or massive toys, he wishes for the whole universe to eat the way we do. If only :)
